Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.
Before Toto was formed The members of the band played sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.
Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their previous efforts and was criticized for the absence of hit singles.
