Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in the year 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums, and was criticised for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions for a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.


Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was well-received by fans, and the band embarked on a tour with former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live album titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
